Rom/Tran Work Jake Vreeland 11/14/16

On this day, Monday November 14,2016 in the amazing class of American Literature we used our knowledge from last class which was Wednesday.  What we learned was transcendentalism which is, a literary movement that believes truth exists beyond reason and experience.  Also with the work we did in class we had to use romanticism, which we have been learning about a lot lately.  Romanticism is a movement in the arts and literature that originated in the late 18th century, emphasizing inspiration, subjectivity, and the primacy of the individual.  These two subjects were mainly used to complete some of the class work we had to do.  The work was to read a certain text and write a paragraph to show the text containing the two subjects.  You then had to make a claim for each, talk about it and find evidence to support the claim.  The work wasn't too difficult and it was good practice but even Mr. Rivers said it takes a large amount of time to just complete one paragraph and we had to do six of them.  I tried to stay on my case the best I could but only got about one an half done.  Today's class was very productive and somewhat easy and we will continue the same work tomorrow.
