Today's class dicussion carried on from yesterday about how connotation and denotation develop tone, and how a dialogue's tone can be interpreted different ways. We started off by reading a dialogue and analyzing how the one dialogue can have a negative connotation or a positive connotation; depending on how it is read, what the punctuation is and the context of the words. Next we read a part of "The Tell- Tale Heart" and tried to determine what the tone was and how it was created. Then we ended class by watching a video of Vincent Price in "The Tell- Tale Heart" and we are going to go over how his tone changes thgroughout the story tomorrow.
